Ondalinda x Careyes 2016

Taking place on the stunning beaches of Costa Careyes, Mexico from October 27-30, 2016 Ondalinda X Careyes was a boutique music & lifestyle festival.

Transforming a private beachfront resort, on the grounds of one of the world's most coveted travel destinations was an experience like no other of music, wellness and a deep dive into the local Huichol culture during Dia de los Muertos weekend.

I brought the infamous burning man art car The Mayan Warrior ‘off playa’ for the first time with the help of my friend & founder, Pablo Gonzales, onto the beach in Costa Careyes for the Saturday night beach party. The beach was transformed into a mystical maze by Mexico-based entrepreneur & artist Philippe Moellhausen with monumental art pieces, vibrant decor, dazzling costumes, & indigenous live performances.

Ondalinda also showcased the art & teachings of the local Huichol culture. A portion of net profits from the festival was donated to the Huichol to support their mission to preserve sacred land through the organization UNESCO, and an exclusive collection of Huichol art by the name “Los Navegantes del sueño” was displayed with never before seen masterpieces that reflect the cosmovision of this mystic community.  We also had talks led by a world-renowned Huichol expert Humberto Hernandez & a screening of the award-winning film “Eco de la Montagna,”. We had an artisan craft market where attendees purchased authentic art & were able to witness a Huichol shaman and local musicians open the exhibition to invoke the Gods and bless the event, and also learn about the Huichol art and its meaning from the local tribe themselves.

I managed all of the guest travel, accommodation & extra activities as well as the operations & production for the entire festival.
